Spring Shearing Time

Albert was very much ready for a haircut! He stood quietly on my shearing platform waiting for his trim. He's the most social goat I have and also the easiest to work with on such things as shearing. I take my time to ensure a clean, safe job. The result is about ten pounds of raw, rather messy wool.

It takes time to clean, sort and process the wool, but it always turns out beautiful, and Albert is happy to have all the weight gone in time for spring.

Here's the wool after washing. I go through and remove all the vegetative matter and any pieces under 4". The remaining wool is then ready for your project!
